Hey everyone, welcome back to The Painting Desk!
This week I’ve been working on an Arbites Kill Team commission for one of our loyal customers. To be honest, it's been absolute choice switching gears and doing something completely different from my usual projects. I’ve really been enjoying getting stuck into these models, they've been heaps of fun. Honestly didn't realize how much crazy small details they had on them until I got them under the lamp, there's just so much little things to pick out!
Here’s a quick breakdown of where they're at so far:

Primed them black.

Applied a layer of grey to give the plates a nice, gritty greyish-black look rather than just stark black.

Jumped into the first round of highlights, picked out the red markings, and started weathering the shields.

3D printed some custom industrial bases for the whole squad.
Still need to crack into the rest of the specialists, get the decals sorted, and give the whole squad a general polish. Then it's just down to the final touches, putting some washes on the faces, and doing the last highlights across the armour, shields, and red markings to really make them pop.
I'm having a total blast with this squad, and once they're all finished up, I'll do a final post with a proper little photoshoot so you can see the end result.
